[Sam's just gonna wander over here to keep gossiping about the Avengers, because it's probably rude to keep doing it in T'Challa's post.]

As in dating, yeah. It's...[He gestures vaguely.] A thing. I really haven't talked too much to our Loki, but he's...all right, I guess.

[Look, he's pretty dubious about the whole thing himself, but whatever, they seem happy enough together. Sam's not gonna judge.]

[It's very unexpected. Or maybe would be if he'd had the time to set up any expectations for his alternate self. Somehow he doesn't think dating Loki would have ever crossed his mind as something he'd have to give consideration.]

We spoke briefly. And then we were mostly fighting the wild life. But he seemed less...villainous?

[He'll withhold any judgement until he's seen more of Loki and the other him. If Loki has given up on gaining ultimate power and trying to take over a planet, maybe they can see eye-to-eye.

I mean, he hasn't tried to take over yet.

[Apart from that one post with Taako, but that doesn't count.]

And from what I know, he's been getting along with Thor, so-

[Sam just shrugs. Strangely enough, he knows a lot more about the other Loki than he does about the one from their own world.]

Maybe the other you has been a good influence on him. Or maybe he's been a good influence on the other Steve.

That's good to hear. For all of Loki's mistakes I know that Thor wanted things to be better between him and his brother.

[A particularly long pause.]

Is the other Steve the type of guy who seems like he'd be benefited by Loki's...influence?

[He's not going to say the words evil twin but the thought is there. Not that Loki's influence would necessarily be a bad thing but...trickster.]

[dryly:] I don't think he's gonna turn him into evil Captain America, Steve. The most I've gotten from Loki is that he doesn't have a whole lot of patience for idiots, which I can't really blame him for. Not that I've gotten up close and personal with him, but he seems...all right. [Not the kind of guy who would suddenly decide to take over Earth with an alien army, and it's a little unsettling.]

Thor wants to find somewhere where all their people can live on Earth.

I'll take your word for it. [He hasn't seen nearly enough of Loki or the other Steve to really make his own judgement call, but he trusts Sam and his instincts.]

Live on Earth? Why would they abandon Asgard?

[Sam just gets this 'oh shit' look on his face for a moment. He'd just assumed Steve would have heard the news from Thor already, but...apparently not. Awkwaaaaaard.]

There was some fight with Thor and Loki's sister Hela, and, uh, Asgard was destroyed in the process. Apparently they saved some of the people, but the plane itself was lost.

[How, Sam has no idea. But it doesn't seem that far-fetched when you're talking about gods battling.]

[He hasn't seen Thor around at all.]

Let me get this straight. Their battle destroyed the entire city?

[He's never been to Asgard so he doesn't really know specifics of the city, but it's still very, very troubling news.]

The entire...whatever. Planet. Plane. I'm not sure what the term would be, but he said that everyone who's left is in a spaceship right now.

[Sam's not too clear on the specifics, either.]

But on the bright side, Banner's with them back home.

On a spaceship heading for Earth.

[He can only imagine how that's going to go. Thor has stalked up a lot of good will with Earth, being a member of the Avengers. But to permanently re-locate with the rest of his people? For them to remain self-governing alone will be a battle.]

Banner? Does Natasha know? [It is good to hear that he's alive. And not Hulk-ified.]

Yeah. With how things are right now, I don't know what kind of welcome they'll get there. [Sam grimaces a little. Technically, all of the Asgardians would be superpowered by Earth standards. It makes the Accords look a hell of a lot messier.]

Well, he said it on the network, so I'm assuming she knows. Can't imagine Nat wouldn't keep an eye on things.

About the sort of welcome we would receive if we returned to the States. [His tone is grim. They couldn't have picked a worse time to try and inhabit Earth.]

You're right. That wouldn't be like her. How is she doing, by the way?

Have you ever watched a documentary about giant lizards before? I hadn't. Until now.

Can't say that I have. How giant are we talking?

Big enough to be ridden. Not that anyone has.

Is this where you tell me your new goal in life is to ride a giant lizard? Because Thor, I think you can aim higher.

There's no shame in setting achievable goals.

Regardless, this was all a segue into an invitation to drink and watch reptilian mating rituals.

But you can fly. Wouldn't riding a lizard be a come down from that?
