Name: Steve Rogers
Canon: Marvel Cinematic Universe
Canon point: Endgame, immediately following the final battle.
Age: 105 if counting the time he was frozen in ice. Appearance-wise he’s roughly 38-39.
History: Here
Personality:
+Loyal: Steve is a man who will literally walk through fire and burn everything to the ground for the people he cares about. No risk is too big, no sacrifice unthinkable. He has fought close friends and gone so far as to become a fugitive in defense of his best friend with no hesitation. Once he’s made a strong attachment to someone, he’ll do just about anything for them despite the consequences that might follow. The people he chooses to trust he trusts completely and actively seeks them out when he needs help with situations he can’t handle alone, such as when he teams up with Natasha and Sam to take down HYDRA and free Bucky from their hold, despite initially being suspicious of the former and only having recently met the later.
+True to Himself: He is driven by the need to do the right thing, and to see justice done. He never hesitates to stand up for what he believes in, whether it be protecting someone in need, saving a city, or opposing SHIELD and the Sokovia Accords. Steve is willing to fight for what he believes in, even if it costs him relationships with his friends and teammates and puts him in danger. He’s not one to ever shy away from speaking his mind, and his values system is unshakable.
+Adaptable: Steve has been both a solider and a spy, and he’s had to operate under shifting environments and around new people in both capacities. He knows how to blend in with his surroundings and how to make the best of his situation. But his experience as a man out of time has made being able to adapt to situations and new environments quickly a necessity. He’s also an excellent strategist and as such has no trouble thinking on his feet, during battle or otherwise, to come up with a strategy to work to his benefit.
-Self-sacrificing: Steve is willing to do whatever it takes to protect people, including give up his own life. He’s prone to reckless and split decision actions when it comes to dangerous situations, such as reacting to the threat of a grenade by jumping on it in an attempt to spare those around him. Becoming a super soldier has only exacerbated his already abysmal sense of self preservation, making him able to do and survive reckless acts such as jumping out of planes without a parachute. If sacrificing himself means that he can achieve his goal, whether it be standing up to a bully, or crash landing a plane into the ocean, he sees it as a sacrifice he’s willing to make.
-Stubborn: As someone with unshakable beliefs it is extremely hard to get him to change his mind about things. Near impossible, in fact, as he’s more likely to argue his point into the ground rather then give an inch. If he doesn’t agree with something, he will never agree with it, and he isn’t interested in coming to a compromise in most cases. First impressions can leave a lasting impression on Steve as he can make snap judgements about people that tend to linger. For instance, his first interactions with Tony are antagonistic and it takes awhile of them fighting alongside each other for that initial dislike to fade.
-Emotionally Repressive: Steve is not comfortable showing others his emotional vulnerabilities, and he tends to withdraw, even from those he’s closest with, such as when he seeks solitude after both his mother’s and Peggy’s funerals. He prefers to struggle through his emotions alone or to throw himself towards a purpose that he can focus on instead. It takes months and a lot of consideration before he even tries to seek out veteran counseling, and even then, he never gets around to attending a meeting. Years later, he does end up leading a support group of his own for people who have lost loved ones to Thanos’ snap, but it's more about him helping others then working through his own struggles as he offers platitudes like 'moving on' which he definitely doesn't take to heart.
